Finn Harps are assured of their place in next season’s Airtricity League Premier Division.

The Donegal side can no longer be dragged into the relegation battle after Wexford Youths were beaten 5-0 by Cork City at Turner’s Cross.

Chiedozie Ogbene scored two early goals but saw his chance for a hat-trick denied by Graham Doyle from the spot.

The other goals were scored by Sean Maguire, Conor McCarthy and Gavan Holohan.

The defeat for Wexford means that they will now have to contest the promotion/relegation play-off against either Cobh Ramblers or Drogheda United.

Cork City will have used the game as a warm-up for Sunday week’s FAI Cup final rematch against Dundalk.

John Caulfield’s men will be bidding to stop the Lilywhites completing a double-double of League and Cup titles.
