Rio Olympics Badminton Men

Lin Dan, Lee Chong Wei’s biggest rival & friend in world of badminton. In their latest, epic 37th and the 3rd Olympic clash, Lee has finally emerged as victor after a 70% loss rate vs Lin since Bei Jing Olympic.

Lin Dan was very open despite the loss, and highly praised Lee’s performance in the match, while wishing him the best in the final showdown for Olympic Gold.

Lin said: “I had the opportunity to win this match, and I performed well, but I did made some minor, unnecessary  mistakes, without these mistake, the result could have been different.”

“However, both of us exhibited great performance, and I congrats Chong Wei for winning this match. I did some mistakes in third game, which is a pity and it costed me the match, however this is how a competition like and I don’t blame anyone.”

He added that he is satisfied with his own and Chong Wei‘s performance. “The quality of this semi-final is even better than the last one in Beijing Olympic, when I tied the point in the final game, a error occurs because of wind direction. However, to reach the performance like today’s match, I believe both of us spent more effort for training in these 4 years, since we are not as young as 4 years ago anymore. As such, I am really happy for both of our performance, and I congrats the winner of today, Lee Chong Wei, and wish for his best performance in the final.”

After the match, Lin and Lee exchanged their jersey, and this time is perhaps the last time they exchange their jersey in Olympic match for both of them. “As many who said, this might be the last Olympic for both of us, and I am glad for both of us with performance like this today we didn’t let our fans down.”

Lastly a reporter asked Lin on his planing for future, and he replied: “I did not think of anything after tomorrow. For now, I will rest myself, and give my best for the Bronze medal match.”
