Albania will go head-to-head with Switzerland in the second official match of Euro 2016.

Gianni De Biasi’s lads shocked the world after they qualified for their first ever European Championship, as they will be seeking to survive in Group A against Switzerland, France and Romania.

These two sides have never faced each other in European Championships before, but they have played two qualification games in 2002 and 2003.

Despite Switzerland’s 15th FIFA World ranking, the Swiss lads, have been performing poorly, losing four of their last six games. Nonetheless, Vladimir Petković’s crew will be looking for three points against underdogs Albania in their UEFA Euro 2016 opener at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis. Switzerland

Team news – who’s fit and who’s not?

The Albanian national team will be entering this elite competition with no injury concerns, as midfielder Amir Abrashi has recovered from a foot problem. In addition, Gianni De Biasi will be delighted to add Taulant Xhaka to the Euro 2016 roster after he suffered a leg injury back in May.

Switzerland has dealt with a major blow after their regular starter Timm Klose was ruled out of the tournament due to a knee problem. The Swiss men will also be without the services of forward Josip Drmic after he damaged his knee cartilage.

Head to head:

  • In the last five matches, Albania has won two, drawn once, and lost their other two
  • Albania has scored three goals in their last four official appearances
  • Switzerland has bagged two wins and two losses in their last four matches
