Just as he thought his day couldn’t get worse, it has.
After being sent off in last night’s 1-0 defeat to Southampton, David Moyes was then caught on camera afterwards forgetting the name of the referee he was complaining about.
That came before Sunderland’s plane was grounded due to fog, leaving Moyes and co. stranded on the south coast of England.
Now, the Football Association has charged the Sunderland boss with misconduct over his behaviour in yesterday’s EFL Cup fourth-round defeat at Southampton.
The Scot was sent to the stands after disputing referee Chris Kavanagh’s decision not to award a last-gasp penalty when Maya Yoshida appeared to trip Victor Anichebe in the area.
Moyes admitted afterwards he had been sent off having sworn at fourth official James Adcock.
