Bafetimbi Gomis scored his seventh goal of the 2015-16 Premier League season in Swansea’s 4-1 win at West Ham in May

Swansea City’s French international striker Bafetimbi Gomis could complete his move to Marseille “within days”, according to Swans coach Alan Curtis.

Discussions have begun on what would be an initial loan deal for the 30-year old, who has not travelled to the USA for Swansea’s pre-season tour.

Gomis, signed in 2014 after leaving Lyon, has often been linked with a move away from the Liberty Stadium.

“Something could well be on the horizon,” Curtis told BBC Wales Sport.

“He’s still contracted to us but you would assume something within the next few days, or weeks certainly, something would happen with Bafe leaving the club.”

Gomis scored seven goals in 35 appearances last season and would be the third forward to depart Swansea this summer.

Portuguese striker Eder has moved to Lille and Italian Alberto Paloschi has joined Atalanta.

Swansea signed Dutch duo Mike van der Hoorn and Leroy Fer at the beginning of July.

Francesco Guidolin’s side are also thought to be targeting the signings of Wales’ Euro 2016 heroes Joe Allen and Hal Robson-Kanu.
