Of all the football teams in the world, Borussia Monchengladbach’s is probably up there as one of the more difficult to spell.

And for most, a quick Google search would have avoided embarrassment – but one pub saw the opportunity for some humour ahead of the German team’s fixture against Celtic, displaying numerous attempts to spell the Bundesliga side’s name before writing: “A German Team”.

Funny stuff indeed, but Monchengladbach caught wind of the sign, and won the evening with their response.

Having renamed their Twitter account A German Team, we doff our caps to you, whoever runs the Monchengladbach Twitter account. Well played, indeed.

And the side nicknamed the Foals didn’t stop there, going on to beat their Scottish counterparts 2-0 at Celtic Park. Funny and good at football, Gladbach really are the full package.
