Leicester striker Jamie Vardy say it was an “easy decision” to turn down Arsenal as there is no contest in “heart and head” when it comes to staying with Leicester.
The 29 years old went to Euro 2016 with England squad and revealed that he is actively offered by Arsene Wenger to join Arsenal.
Since then he has signed a new deal with Leicester and says he is staying with the club who gave him a big career break thru, and it was an easy decision to make.
“I am not going to beat around the bush on this. When I think about it, both my head and my heart was decided to stay here, and I did.”
“Deep down if you know it’s not a right move for you, you don’t do it. Simple as that.”
“You think about what might happen, and what might not, where you could be, where not, and every time I think about it, my head and my heart says ‘you need to stay.’ ”
When asked about England’s early exit from Euro 2016, he said “It was heartbreaking. Everyone of us is a football fan as well, if we weren’t playing we will be watching, and it was heartbreaking. But we need to move on to a new chapter with a new boss.”
