Breaking!: Head of European Olympic Arrested for Illegal ticket sales!

Head of European Olympic Committees and a member of the Irish Olympic Committee, Pat Hickey, was arrested in Rio last night for allegedly involving in ticket-scalping scheme.

Brazil Police has been working hard and the arrest of Hickey is an effort to crack down on illegal ticket scalping. Other than Hickey, two person associated with a London based hospitality firm THG has been arrested for reselling Olympic tickets above face value.

National Olympic committees are allotted with tickets that they can resell, with one condition that it must be through authorized hospitality firms, and THG is not one of those authorized firm. Police discovered the link between THG and Hickey by backtracking from the seized tickets, which then discovered that it was coming from Irish Olympic Committee.

Pat Hickey was arrested n his hotel room and reportedly tried to escape when the police came for him.

Hickey is since reported falling ill after being arrested and is taken to hospital for immediate medical attention.
