Michael Conlan could not contain his anger after suffering a unjust decision by three judges in quarter final for men’s bantamweight 56kg.
Despite fierce protest from Conlan and his obviously superior footwork, three judges of the match ruled in favour of Russia’s Vladimir Nikitin.
The match is doubted in dubious atmosphere after end of first round, where Nikitin missed on many occasions yet the judges still ruled in favor of him.
On second round, Conlan manage to scored the round by a series of fierce exchanges with Nikitin and wounded his face.
Conlan’s furious attack left the Russian boxer injured in head.
It doesn’t help thou in the final round verdict was given and score was awarded for his inferior opponent Nikitin, leaving Conlan furious.
“AIBA (Amateur International Boxing Association) is rotten from the core right to the top. I will not fight for AIBA ever again.” said Conlan after the match, who won Bronze at during 2012, and was the last boxer remaining for his country in Olympic.
Conlan is obviously and rightfully doubting Russia done some cheating, accusing them on twitter directly after the match.
